Reader's Digest Article - George Washington Carver

I was reading the special edition of Reader Digest i.e. 50th Anniversary Issue. Indeed this book contains the best of the best articles published in RD since last 50 years. I was reading one article in Book Section title ' BEYOND FAME or FORTUNE '. The story of George Washington Carver. He is the first African-American Negro Scientist, who did his greater research on peanuts. One of the most down-to earth scientist, who did not accept a salary increase during his 46 year tenure.

Carver's most pungent aphorisms.

On Cigarettes : "If God had intended the human nose to be used for a chimney, He would have turned our nostrils up".
On Nature : "I Love to think of nature as a n unlimited broadcasting system through which God speaks to us every hour, if we only tune Him in."

On Death : "One of the things that has helped me as much as any other is not, ' When am I going to die?' but 'How much can I do while I am alive?' "

One should definitely read this article, which will enrich a person about What is Life?
